Okay. Your cat must be assertive agressive high energy natural leader
natured which is very hard to top over. (Be the bigger leader of that
is) without becoming angry. For that nature , in dogs and humans
too, anger is seen as a challenge which will only bolster their
  assertiveness/aggressiveness..

With the medium to low level energy relaxed calm (Cesar Millan calls
it submissive but that always lends to : wimpy/weak which he says is not
what he means so why doesn't he use what he does mean?)- being pack
leader is easy. They WANT to follow us. They want us to be the leader-
a calm assertive leader. Followers are easy to train. Being consistent
the key to success and with a calm natured pet or human , it's easy.

It's that assertive aggressive nature we all have the most difficulty
with. That's why we end up taking drastic measures with them in order
to establish the pecking order we desire. It takes a lot of patience
and a lot of assertive calm to get that high energy level submit...
It's hard work. Aside: Makes me wonder why we humans tend to treat
different natures the same way. hmm. ((This no dig on you Shawn. It's
a thought to ponder. Possibly another topic opener. I have to be
careful. Second cup of coffee and all.)) :)
