Sour grapes perhaps?  The fact that USR and Hayes (a 51% controlling
interest of which is now owned by USR, would you believe?), as well as
AT&T and a few others were the major players in the development of V.34
and the Class 2.0 fax standard, may explain Rockwell's insistence in NOT
following the ITU specs to the letter.  It's almost like the Beta vs. VHS
debacle all over again.
