Why should they require warnings in adds.. Cars don't have ads saying "This
automobile could be used for ram-raiding".. MoDems Don't have ads stating
"this MoDem could be used to hack or in anyway break the computer misuse act
1988".. Do they..? So why should a doc or a Z64 or a wildcard or a SP64..
Or a Mod chip for PS, or a Magic card for Saturn.. They all have Legitimate
purposes.. Obviously SOME ppl will misuse & abuse them.. Should we ban cars
b'cause SOME ppl Speed..? I think not..!
Besides, Carl Industries don't/didn't create the Doc, They Manufactured the
Multi Game Hunter for the SNES/Genesis/Gameboy but that was 8 years ago..
They just supplies the doc's..
Do you Play Import games.. Thats frowned upon by Sega/Nintendo/Sony just as
much as piracy.. Why do you think they have the Territory (contry Code)
lockout chips.. To stop people Importing foreign games..
You can never stop piracy.. I dont blame Nintendo or Sony or Sega for trying
to.. It was their hard work that brought us the machines.. Their hard work
that brought us the games.. First, there were cassettes, & any-1 with a
stereo (everyone) could copy them, Then came Carts (atari) & ppl said that
they were uncopyable.. but within weeks people were copying them.. Then
disks, which within weeks people had written progs that allowed you to
transfer data from on media to another (pir8), then cartridges came again..
so the pirates released copiers like the MGH or the Profighter, so Nintendo
(Sega didn't even bother to protect there games) introduced Fast Rom into
games.. So they brought out The Double Profighter Q, and the Wildcard, so
Nintendo pissed off, used High Rom for there games, so we got copiers like
The Wildcard DX & DX2 & DX 96.. Then came the Saturn & l8r the PS that used
CD's "they are uncopyable screamed the Sega & Sony men together", but by
this time lots of ppl had CD-R burners &
could pir8 the cd's for a few pounds/dollars, now you can write a CD for less
than a pound.. Nintendo come along with cartridges, so we get copiers like
the doc & wildcard again.. But already there are games which arent crackable
(won't work with the copiers), namely 1080 Snowboarding.. So we get new
copiers (The CD-64).. Next will be the DD.. & manufacturers like BUNG &
Chameleon will release copiers that can copy Floptical Disks.. (they'll
probably use DVD copiers or summat..)
You can NEVER stop piracy, it'll be around has long as ther is copyright &
"Intellectual Ownership"..
