DC>I use the " . " on the command line. In BAT files I always use DC>the *.* as it stands out better for later reading and editing. DC>JIC, " dir *. " without the extra " * " will give you a list of DC>the subdirectories of the directory you are in. DIR *. will also show any Files that don't have a Extension in the listing along with the sub-directories.
