At the risk of being moderated, I'll add my 2 cents worth...
I don't forsee the death of BBSs for quite a while. As more and more people
flock to the internet, a good number of them are finding out that it can be a
vast wasteland of bits and bytes.
There's no "community" on the internet, like the local BBS has. There's so
much crap posted in the newsgroups that doesn't pertain to the topic of the
newsgroup. I've all but stopped reading the newsgroups. I've grown tired of
reading all the BS in regards to "get-rich-quick" schemes and the hate
arbage
posted there.
I'll admit that it'd take quite a bit for me to drop my internet account. I
like exploring places on the web. But, there's a lot of junk on the net,
o.
The BBS will stick around for a while longer. It may even see a revival in
the future. Who knows.
