Hello Bonnie!
Sunday July 28 1996, Bonnie Goodwin babbled to Matt Ion:
-> nor does hardly any car stereo shop
-> even have the slightest consideration for those outside, in their
-> designs, seldom to they think of keeping the sound in, their job is to
-> sell you as much garbage as possible.
Bonnie, I was going to just quit trying to get the point across that
stereotyping (that you guys are guilty of) was kind of off track in this
discussion. But after seeing that ludacris remark that you made I see
that you know very little about the business. That is about the most
absent-minded remark I've seen in here yet. I was thinking that you were
more opem-minded than that.
I spent $300 on an enclosure for my car that would produce SPL in the car and
produce as little output on the outside as possible. MANY systems I design
are along the same lines.
It's more than obvious that you've had your run-ins with those who have no
regard for those at the red light next to them. I can't knock your reasoning
in this matter. And I too, know that those who want to show the neightbors
how loud their car stereos are can possibly be the ones who provoke
ordinances that require a fixed amount of decibals during a show. BUT THAT
DOESN'T MAKE ALL CAR STEREO ENTHUSIASTS "FLAPPERS".
And let me ask you this....If you're mixing a show and getting paid well for
it, do you mix ONLY what you feel is quality music or do you do "what the
customer wants"?
-> So when you go for concert levels inside the car, everyone on
-> the block gets to hear it too, regardless of the precautions.
Wrong
I won't be bothing you guys any more. We've done our best to enforce
necessary views and make strong points in our arguments only to find that we
are _still_ stereotyped and labeled along with those who have thousands of
dollars tied up in amplifiers only to make noise. Obviously there is no
happy medium here.
And from what I (and probably others) get from the messages posted in here by
the "anti-car audio" people, all who have systems in their car have
attitudes, are "flappers", no nothing about audio, can't get quality sound
from a car system, have no regard for others in traffic alongside them, and
those of us who sell to the public are only selling "garbage".
Well, so much for thinking I could get an intelligent response from those who
are supposed to be knowledgible in the field of audio.
I'm out of here. No need to reply.
