The hosts file in my eCS 1.1 setup is the same as on 1.0.  I checked the 
tcp/ip config notebook and they were the same except the 1.0 setup had a 
subnet mask set the 1.1 setup did not but making them the same did no good.

Since I wrote the original message I was able to connect ok, then the 
same thing happened which I guess I never fully explained.  In fact 
looking at what I wrote I did a poor job of explaining what was 
happenning.  I did connect in the sense that the message area at the 
bottom of Mozilla said "transferring data from etrade.com" but nothing 
ever showed up in the browers no matter how long I waited.
