Rod may claim that homicides  murders and perhaps even try to focus on
that point. I don't think it changes the picture though which is
presented by those stats - as you put it above, "Australia is a much
more violent place than it used to be". Do you happen to know what
counts as 'homicide' for inclusion in those figures?
