Jeff: Not too sure if this came through so trying a re-send...

Yep. But in my case its what the rig puts out only,no amplifier yet.

I wish I still had a rig with AM in it.
Used to like to listen to shortwave and the boys on 3885 some nights.
When you get it all ready to go take a listen on 3745 on a Saturday around
3pm
Eastern for the Canadian Boat-Anchor Net.
All sorts of classic AM capable rigs can be heard there from all over
ntario
and Quebec. Net control is usually VA3ES,Ed here in Ottawa.

JE> Have you heard anything from this far south on VHF?
Farthest I have been on 6m ssb is the Texas and Oklahoma border to the west,
and into the Georgia/South Florida area.
2m being a bit of a long haul for me the farthest I get it is about Northern
Ney York and Vermont.
Problem with 2m is that most of the stations Ic an hear are aimed everywhere
but NORTH,so they never hear anything from up in Ontario at all.
The odd time they will hear us,then turn their beam(s) around, but it is
