Stephen was hit by a Randy Johnson fastball for uttering:
SF> Well, he was a pitcher until 1919 and he averaged 8 homers and 80 RBI.
SF> If my figures were only HALF right that would still make him quite a
SF> hitter.
Your figures aren't even close. In his first four years, he had 9 home runs
and 50 RBI. This was when he was used ONLY as a pitcher. If we count his
first season's totals but don't use the year for averaging, that means that
he averaged 3 home runs and 17 rbi over his first 3 full seasons as a pitcher
ONLY.
SF> Perhaps, but it doesn't explaing why you still say that pitchers can't
SF> hit. I don't find them because they are not available to me right now.
MOST pitchers CAN'T hit. For every guy that you come up with, I can come up
with significantly more that are boobs.
SF> stats that I do not have, only from those that I do, and even at such
SF> a disadvantage, you still have not proven your case nor disproven
SF> mine.
BAH-LO-NEE. You haven't proven a thing. You've pulled out a couple of names
but if you want, I can pull out FAR MORE that prove my point. You're not even
going to be in the ballpark once you do find the names (and I'd be willing to
bet that you'll never publicize what you find because you'll realize how bad
they have been when you do find the info).
SF> That's a big help. Are you trying to be evasive? Why? If I had the
SF> figures you say are there, and they bear you out, I'd concede in a
I seriously doubt it. I'm not being evasive. You said that you can't find
them but you've obviously haven't looked hard enough. I'm NOT going to do
your legwork, especially since you won't publish your results after you've
seen the data.
