Hi Maria, welcome back,
MVR>be end of this month available. It seems that that kind of Stevia
oesn't
MVR>make so quickly roots and the more in our climat it should not be growing
MVR>really well during the first year(s). I'll try to get a plant as soon as
MVR>can get some.
I find Stevia a little trickier than I was led to expect by people
in the southern USA. Down there the weather is hot enough and humid
enough that cuttings root without effort. They can't even throw down
weeds that they've pulled out or the weeds root again! :-)
Keeping that in mind, I have had my most success with rooting Stevia
cuttings in warm weather, or in the fall after the furnace comes on.
They resent fluctuating temperatures.
MVR>As soon as I get a plant, I will also try to use it. Hope it will be
ine
MVR>for use in my diabetic diet.
So far, Maria, unlike either sugar or Aspartame, Stevia has not
produced any noteworthy side effects. Eventually, of course, someone
allergic to anything and everything will show a reaction, which will
immediately be pounced on by the Sugar and Aspartame lobbies to
"prove" it is unsafe.
MVR>ws> IMHO, to "the little blue packet", and the
MVR>that means "lobbiests"???
A lobby is a special interest group that continually harasses members
of the government for benefits and protective tariffs for their
specialty. Some are so subtle that they work behind the scenes with
bribes, but all continually bombard the powerful lawmakers with
petitions, pleas, biased literature, movies, fundraisers, etc.
Brigitte Bardot and her animal crusades are an example of a lobbyest
at work. :-)
The little blue packages are, presumably, artificial sweeteners.
(Ours are pink. :-)
