 Hi Debra for what it's worth you would be better off cutting a wire for
 the band that you want to work. I have tried several antenna configurations
 here in ZL and always seem to revert back to a straight out diploe cut for
 the frequency. While a G5RV will work it is after all only a compromise
 antenna and will require an antenna tuner. Also if you cut a wire for the
 forty meter frequency it will be shorter than that of a G5. Hope this is
 of some help to you. This is of course just my opinion and i'll be looking
 at what other replies you get.
