BL> I saw all the Yes Ministers and Prime Ministers the first time
 BL> through, and I'm cured.

BG> How can you say that? I have YM and YPM listed with the other
BG> truly classic pommie shows, such as Blackadder Goes Forth,
BG> Fawlty Towers, Drop the Dead Donkey, and a few others which are
BG> all unique examples of the greatest humour in the world (IMO,
BG> of course, but then I'm the one who needs to be amused).

All excellent choices. The first medieval Blackadder really appealed
to me! But YPM ran its course. They were getting a little predictable
at the end, and Sir Humphrey was becoming less the idiot and more the
Machiavelli.

BG> I actually classify MP as "extreme absurdity".

BL> Well, I actually recorded it and watched it, and it was one of
BL> the weak ones. I'd forgotten how patchy Monty P was: 80%
BL> rubbish, 10% strange, and 10% sheer genius comedy.

BG> When you consider its age though (25 years or so), it still
BG> doesn't look anywhere near as dated as some other shows of the
 BG> time.

  It doesn't date, does it?

BG> I'd put the genius closer to 20% myself, and reckon it's worth
BG> enduring the 60% rubbish which generally goes with it.

That's what I'd forgotten. You have to endure quite a bit to find
the gems.

Regards,
Bob
