Hi Barbara,
-> C'mon down, Jan,
-> The water's warm!
-> We're only about 35 miles from ST Augustine down SR 16. We're over in
-> Green Cove Springs, Fl.
We DO plan to come down in August! I don't mind the heat, and the water
really is nice and warm. It's a lovely place- and so wonderful for
parrots. Our birds always enjoy being out on my sister's deck, and
their squawks are often answered by other parrots down the street. One
man even bicycles with his grey on his handlebars. Is Green Cove
Springs near the river? I'll have to look at my map. . .
-> Green Cove Springs, Fl. There is a big bird to-do over in St.
-> Augustine at a big aviary tomorrow and Sunday. Have you ever heard of
-> Solanos? I like to go there as everything is outdoors and out in the
Anyway,
-> going tomorrow to get supplies, hobknob, and look around at spares as
-> I have a few singles to pair up.
Sounds like a bird fair worth attending. Those ones in closed buildings
are just disgusting. I think being a nurse must give you a great
advantage in birdkeeping- what a great combination. Hope you find the
birds you are looking for.
-> Again, c'mon down where it's warmer!!! Is your sister into birds too?
My sister is a biology teacher, so she naturally is drawn to all
critters. I think she just has a few hermit crabs scuttling around in
her bathtub right now. :) Our birds are always welcome guests. Her
husband has MS, and I've been wondering whether a bird would be a good
companion for him, or too much hassle for a disabled person. They
certainly aren't low maintenance, but they sure can be good friends
(ESPECIALLY those double yellow peckerheads).
TTYL,
Jan
