 Hi Mike....I choped out some of your message to make this shorter when
scrolling. I bought 'Test for Echo' the first day it came out and
actually I'm not sure you would like it but I could be wrong. I pretty
much go againt the grain with most Rush fan since I really like 'Hold
your fire' which being one of their releases with good keyboards which
is what I like and is very solid lyrically. If you pay attention to
lyrics. I like most all of the Rush releases except for 'Caress of
Steel' which is pretty dead. Test has little keyboards that stand
out and lots of guitar. The guitar is really different which no dout is
meant to fit into the 90's style so its not as tight. I've found when I
crank it gives me a little bit of a headache because I thought the mix
was horrible. In fact thats where reviewers really beat up on it. The
band thought the mix was great. It's their album :( If your looking for
something like 'Moving Picture' or '2112' forget it. There will never be
anything like those works again! This is new...ya just got to decide if
ya like the new :) In summary I thought is was really good, its got to
grow on you though. Don't expect to like it the first listen. Their Test
for Echo tour in the twin cities was great last year.
