MH>Hey, I just happened to see Test for Echo in the bins at Blockbuster...
MH>wasn't aware that Rush had a new one out. I don't listen to a whole lo

MH>I've got all the LP's except the two live one's from RUSH through Hold

_Test For Echo_ is most definatly Rush's best effort in many years. I also
lost interest in them after _Hold Your Fire_. They sounded to refined,
predictable, mechanical, and boring. I think _Test For Echo_ goes back to a
little more creativity but still sounds very refined and mechanical in
places. The first few songs on the album I do enjoy but after about the 5th
song or so I find myself losing interest in listening to the rest of it. I
would classify it as better than _Hold Your Fire_ and everything since but it
can't hold a candle _2112_, _A Farewell To Kings_, _Hemispheres_, or _Caress
Of Steel_ (which are my favorates).
I guess my best suggestion would be that if you have a friend that has it, or
a music store that lets you listen before buying, give it a listen and see if
you like what you hear before you buy it. I've seen people in this echo that
enjoy it and I know quite a few die hard older Rush fans that could take it
or leave it.
Good Luck
Jim
