Upon an incoming call the modem sets the com port to the speed stored in NVRAM. That is how the USR modem works. The book says to ensure you have your software set to the same speed. It does NOT set the port to the speed of the last issued AT command. Why is this so hard for you to understand? DD>> USR Couriers work perfectly well at my DD>> place, especially when I dial my host who uses someother DD>> brand modem. PE> No they don't. It fuckingwell does! I ALWAYS get a 28,800 connect with my host. Have done ever since he upgarded to V.34 When he had V.FC only, 9 out of ten connects were 28,800 with the remainder 26,400 PE> Not when Rod called you. Rod's modem is running on fencing wire. He made a number of calls here. SOme manages to download the file, others dropped carrier when his fucked modem wouldn't perform the retrains. PE> Got a tech report from USR about that yet? Tech reports are academic claptrap. This modem works. It is proved by my connects.
