Hi Les,
Since you are not running SES, it would seem that any security issues
would arise from Lantastic. Does the author run Lantastic too?
Here is a quick and dirty REXX exec that will behave like TYPE but use
the pipe directly rather than inherit the handle from the command
shell by redirection.
/* REXX exec RXTYPE.CMD */
PARSE ARG Pipe_name .
IF STREAM(Pipe_name,'C','OPEN READ') == 'READY:' THEN
DO
DO WHILE LINES(Pipe_name) > 0
SAY LINEIN(Pipe_name)
END
CALL STREAM Pipe_name,'C','CLOSE'
END
ELSE
SAY 'Unable to open ' || Pipe_name
EXIT
Run it by the command
rxtype \pipe\pipe_name
where \pipe\pipe_name is the name by which the server process created
the pipe.
If this reads the pipe and TYPE still doesn't then it looks very much
like an inheritance problem.
Regards
Dave
