   Maybe you're right about the origin of the "get a life" word
sequence, but I 
think you're wrong about the meaning attached to its contemporary use. Who in 
their right mind would address a *hippie* with the current "get a
life"? They 
already *have* all the life they need, thankyouverymuch. :)
