| subject: | Getting started with PM apps |
-=> Quoting James Laine to All <=-
JL> I am having difficulty getting started with PM application
JL> programming.
JL> Specifically, I came across an article in Volume #2, Issue #1 of the
JL> Electronic Developers Magazine which I found on the internet. This
JL> article was a step-by-step introduction to PM application programming.
JL> It all seemed pretty good, but when I went to apply the information
JL> provided, I had no success.
JL> I ran the executable file from the demo program, and a window
JL> interface opened without any apparent problem. So I took the example
JL> C code, and tried to compile and run it. No problem, exept the
JL> resulting .EXE file did not create a window on the desktop.

When you use this style (or any style), you have to make sure you
include the resources for everything this style contains, or you'll get
the results you're seeing (I've struggled with this many times). :-)
For example, make sure you have an ACCELTABLE, MENU, and ICON all in
your .rc file and include the .rc file in your project.
