W>> CG> Quiz: What would you add if you were to find your
W>> soil CG> was not too ACIDIC, but too ALKALINE?
W>>I would add tea leaves... or coffee grounds. What would *you* add? :)
SP> Best? Peat moss, followed by manure, or followed by oak leaves and
 SP> pine needles. :-)
I would add pine and oak *too*, were I at "home" (south Alabama), but if
you've never been to Oklahoma, you can't begin to appreciate the scarcity
of either of those! Certainly peat is a good addition, but it has to be
bought
... and as I am a 'recycler' and the question was posed by a recycler, I
presumed he was asking in that vein, so my thoughts followed... :)
(There are other things, as well, that I could re-cycle, to achieve a more
acidic soil, like the juice from my [non-sugared, vinegar type brine]
pickles,
cottonseed meal, blood meal, blah, blah, blah...but the two I listed are far
more plentiful at my house! :)
cheers,
WL Sakowski
