subject: Video Toaster

I currently own a video toaster system and am considering switching to a
Dec Alpha system (windows NT) very soon. I was wondering if there is
available some editing hardware which ranks similar to the video toaster as
far as performance and cost's go for Windows NT and something that will
utilize the DEC chipset. I own a DPS TBC IV that is in a PC tower I use
with my amiga right now. Something that has a decent CG program and keyer
with real time wipes and effects would be nice. The Video toaster can now
be purchased for under $1,000 for the Amiga 2000's and around $1,600 for an
Amiga 4000. Is there anything in this price range without having to buy
gobs of other hardware to make it work?
One other question I have is about my Panasonic S-VHS AG1970 deck. I own
two of them. One of them when played in slo-mo or paused will usually have
a lot of noise on the screen, while the other plays the same tape
flawlessly. I have enen played the tape on my standard VHS deck and it
plays back in slow mo better than the S-VHS AG1970. I have tried cleaning
the heads with a vcr tape head cleaner yet the pciture is still the same.
When played back in normal playback, it looks like it is working perfectly.
What is the deal here? Why is it not playing steadily in slow motion?
Take Care.
