Hi, Stephen.
ST> If I'm not mistaken, "Stan The Man" has been at least three
ST> people....PLUS that character Marie Severin did that looks like
ST> Hal Linden mixed with Robert Goulet. Jack Kirby did a version of
ST> him that was so far removed from what MIGHT be reality that it
ST> isn't funny!
ST> I remember seeing a supposed picture of him in either Rolling
ST> Stone or ONE of the hipper magazines of the late sixties/early
ST> seventies that looked like Hal Prince, and as we've seen on the
ST> cartoon shows, he's NOW a wizened old turkey with bad hairweaving.
ST> Now, either the schmuck's a chameleon, or there's been more than
ST> one Stan Lee!
A "wizened old turkey" and a "schmuck". There's respect for
you. 8|
I guess your memory must be better than mine... 'cuz other than
getting older, I only ever remember one Stan "the Man" Lee. Perhaps
the artistic renditions of Stan Lee just didn't capture the likeness
of him very well. Perhaps it was intentional? I don't know.
DH> Besides, I think comic fans can, out of respect for his
DH> contributions to comics, cut the man a little slack when it comes
DH> to his memory. After all, the Marvel Universe he helped create is
DH> the better part of 40 years old now... I think Stan Lee can be
DH> forgiven for not being able to instantly recall names and facts.
DH> Let's see how good our memories are when we get to be Stan's age.
ST> Gee, I wonder who was writing for Roy Thomas.....(g)
I don't know. Who?
Talk to you later.
David
