Yeah, and even the ones that do survive usually arent any
real help as far as working out what drives them is concerned.

Yes, but most of them are rational enough to do that. That
particular one was carting the kids corpses around in the
back of the car, but did cover the bodys enough to minimise
the risk of getting caught before he had bumped off the adults.

People tend to be so horrified at what they do that they tend to
assume they must be totally out of their trees. Its really quite
interesting to scrutinise the comments that people who have had
anything to do with them just before the unspeakable obscenity say
about their demeanour. Most are shocked speechless that the person
they had been dealing with, even when they knew them well, was
later found to have killed all his kids 15 minutes later etc.

You could argue that those people wouldnt notice a raving loony
unless he bit their leg, but its more likely they aint obviously
out of their trees at all, even to people who know them well.

Not just murder/suicides either, just plain suicides too.

Nope, thats precisely what he did. Not only was careful to ensure that
the kids corpses werent noticed, but had gone to quite a bit of trouble
to work out where the wife and her parents were apparently. According
to the reports we have seen, he wasnt supposed to have known that.
