If it's not a networked message area, then it needs to be a valid user name.

The message that was posted via NNTP is "to" the newsgroup name. That's a
function of the news reader/editor that posted the message. And since the
message was posted *from* Ragnarok and you're posting *as* Ragnarok, you can't
reply to yourself (or at least, not by default).

I think it's just because you're replying to a message that *you* posted. If
another user replies, it should work fine.
