Randy was my first, and more or less adopted me when I went to visit the 
breeder's shop one day (ran up my arm, parked himself under my chin, and 
refused to budge) so is rather much the leader of the pack (even Simon, my 
b&g knows that-it's hysterical to see a huge bird running out of Randy's 
way). I keep toying with the idea of getting him a "little friend" one day, 
but haven't really had "him" sexed, plus am a bit concerned about losing some 
of the bond we have.  (And, the breeder's 3 pairs haven't been producing the 
last couple years since I brought Randy home).
What that you say about them not being as loud????  When Randy gets cranked 
up he puts out more noise then the b&g!!  They are rather acrobatic, when I 
walk into the room, he's usually hanging upside down from the cage bars (and 
hollering his little beak off).  Do yours do the tapping routine.  One of 
Randy's ways of getting my attention is to tap his beak on something, then 
look at me, then tap some more, repeating as often as needed to gain my full 
attention.  I also find them not to be much of a talker. He has learned 
"crazy bird" and "big mouth", though if you weren't used to the sound 
probably wouldn't recognize it as such.  Anyway, he's little, but he's a real 
hoot.
