$425, effective December 1995. Your limit is two per year. I'm about to
ask ol' SmilieZ (assuming he still works on the EEPROMs in NetComms)
whether or not he's planning an upgrade to do that V.34+ thingy Bill's USR
can do. :-)

Series 5 NetComms now support Flash ROMs! :-)

The SmartModem M7F RackModem is used heavily at UWS (about to be replaced
with RackModem versions of either the M11F or M34F, not sure which) -
people dial-in using Maestros, USRs, NetComms, Banksias, the lot .. no
problems attributable to the modems (just LAN trouble). I even supplied
the default profile for 'em. ;-)

Seriously let's be realistic - we're talking about wrenching a *lot* outta
the ol' PSTN, so no matter what you get there will be trouble of *some*
kind. All you can do is minimise the trouble. IMHO, I'd pick NetComm
first with USR a close second (not that this indicates NetComm is a
"better" brand than USR, just that I'd feel more comfortable with
that decision given that I've worked with at least three generations of
NetComms, and only ever read about USRs).
Cheers..
