  This is slightly misleading.  You can use the Profile functions from
  non-PM applications.  After all, the REXX SysIni function is little more
  than a wrapper for the Profile functions, and that can be used from the
  command interpreter in a text mode session.

  To use a Profile function from a text application, simply pass zero as
  the anchor block handle.

  The only Profile functions that cannot be used from text-mode programs
  are those that talk to the rest of PM (such as PrfReset, which needs to
  broadcast a PL_ALTERED message to all applications).
