subject: File sharing problem with JAM

Hello Jos

 MK>> I get the same error with GoldEd/386 3.0.1-dam3 having mail opened
 MK>> and FMail v1.48 (16bit DPMI) want to toss to this area. Two machines,
 MK>> both with DR DOS and linked with the integrated NetWare (IPX).
 MK>> Very different conditions.

 JH> DOS environment. Did you load SHARE.EXE?

Surely, the 'environment' is multitasked. ;)

 MK>> I think it is GoldEd opening the JAM files for read _and write.

 JH> Just the opposit. Looks like GoldED is opening file in share-deny
 JH> mode. Try to force GoldED to open in share mode (SHAREMODE SHARE in
 JH> your GoldED configuration).

=== goldref.txt ===
        SHAREMODE   (yes)
            If enabled, GoldED opens all files in a SHARE.EXE compatible mode.
            The default share-mode is "Share Deny None", but another may be
            specified directly if you give the mode number as the keyword
            parameter (decimal).
=== end ===

Have my setting changed from YES to SHARE. No error on reading CFG. I try
to provoke tossing of an opened area. .. after a backup .. later ..

Micha
