AL>I'm currently setting up a simple peer network between my
AL>machine (running OS/2 Warp 4 FP5) and my father's machine,
AL>which uses Win95 OSR2.
I take it you have tested the connection with the DOS testing utility
most likely included with the cards? And that it can indeed send
packets back and forth? And that you have terminators on the ends of
your cables?
Then run through the OS/2 networking installation but use the simple
setup, not the advanced one (which doesn't seem to work).
With luck, after the computers have been on for a while they should be
able to see each other (this can take a while - 5,10 minutes.)
Everything else you have done looks right, Netbios-Netbeui, etc.
Oh, and make sure that you have the same login ID entered in both
machines, preferably with the same password. You can add additional
id's after you get things working.
Have faith, it can be done.
Seems to me there is a checkbox in Windows networking to get it to see
the OS/2 box, but I can't remember what it is. The OS/2 box should be
able to see the Windows box regardless.
Rob.
