I think, not sure, that TCP/IP is not needed for a peer to peer
LAN, but Netbeui sure is. TCP/IP is for the Web. I will take all
criticism here. As I said, I am not sure but my LAN did not
work until I had Netbeui selected as a protocol. There !
I have not seen 3.11 in ages and I am no spring chicken.
W2K is a little more involved with all its security but I got it
going in a short time, using W95/98SE experience. Knowing where
to go to do the neccessity, helps.
