Actually, if one takes in the ENTIRE picture.... up to that point in time,
challenges were on a REGULAR basis.... when the Aussies challenged for the
Cup on an off year, Connors didn't have the couple of years to develop a new
boat as the Aussies had over the last couple of years... so Connors came up
with the fastest he could produces in such a short notice....
When you think about it, it was BOTH sides fault....
