Yeah, I was aware of that, hence my final acronymical comment above.  :)

Arguably, MNP-10 could be called semi-proprietary as well, especially as it
isn't in the public domain.  Makes me wonder why Netcomm use it, given that
they'd be paying royalties to Microcom for the privilege...
