Hi Patti,
I raised my two pet Blue and Gold's Pistol and Piper. I own their
parents and they are all very lovely birds. Pistol and Piper just turned
one year old this month. They talk sometimes but usually not to me or to
Ed. And when they do they usually just say "Hi" or "What?" and sometimes
"Hello".  However when I am outside feeding the birds or something I
hear them carrying on in what sounds like long sentences and really just
jabbering on for quite a while. But they don't do it when with us. I
also think they can say "Barbara" and "Ed" and we think they call us by
name because we are always thinking that each of us has called the other
by name; we stop our work and go ask "Did I hear you call me?" And it's
never us!
BTW, we have two new B&G babies now about three weeks old. The parents
are still feeding them for us. They are good parents. I will pull them
sometime this week. One was paid for in advance last fall by a nice lady
that always wanted one and never could get one til after she was
divourced. So she is getting the oldest. I really appreciated her as I
bought my female yellow naped with the money! But I am hoping someone
gets the other little guy soon both as I need the money and he will be
needing the right home soon. I am kinda picky about them. They don't
wean for such a long time. My one year olds still act like big babies
when they want something!
