Hi all,

Here I am, making my usual "behave nicely!" request for when I am
going to be 
off of moderation for awhile: I'm having some minor hand surgery on Friday 
morning, for something improbably called De Quervain's tenosynovitis.  I 
expect to be offline during the surgery itself, but may in fact be back on as 
soon as I am in the recovery room.  It kind of depends on how agreeable the 
nurses are to me using my iPad in there, and how much pain I'm in.  I'm 
supposed to use the thumb and fingers afterward, so there's every chance I'll 
be back moderating by that evening, but the incision is notably bigger than 
the one they make for carpal tunnel, so I'm not really sure how I'm going to 
be feeling.

Anyway, please be on your best Christmulehanukwanstice behavior for our dear 
overlords, Jay and Cheryl, just in case I'm actually gone for more than half 
a day.
