This is a commonly made erroneous conclusion. Just because a motherboard
BIOS can't accomodate a large HD doesn't mean the OS can't do it. The
old common real problem is the if the BIOS can't accomodate it, then you
can't boot from it. If you need that, then install it on an add-in PCI
ATA controller.

1-Put the new drive in the PC along with the old, either as a slave to
the old, or as master (preferable) or slave (to some other device, like
a CD-ROM) on the secondary controller.

2-Go into the BIOS and set it to NOT INSTALLED or NONE for the big HD
only.

3-While in BIOS, make sure controller for the big HD is enabled.

4-Boot as normal into OS/2.

The OS/2 storage device driver, as long as not antique, will detect and
use the big disk.
