I can't recall what your DSP and supervisor dates are, but it almost
sounds like you got hold of a technician that didn't know anything.  I'd
call back and talk to somebody else.  If your clock speed corresponds to
either 20.16MHz or 25MHz, download the latest Courier V.E code and flash
it.  It it takes, then you have a pretty good indication that you're
supposed to be able to get V.90 on it.  You won't get V.90 unless x2 is
already on it, but it's worth a shot, anyway.  From what I understand,
all Courier V.Everything modems will take the V.90 code.
