Sorry for delayed reply, Marilyn - fried PC was on the menu. I'm still
working my way through the backlog with a newer computer.

I've never seen a cable car over the falls, but continual erosion has
changed both the appearance and the touristy things since I first
started going. On the Canadian side, there is an effigy of Blondin
attempting to walk across the falls on a tightrope. This statuary is
suspended on cables above downtown Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The rapids are visible only from the US side from the highway, AFAIK.
I finally got to see the whirlpool by cajoling my hubby; so we
crossed the border and entered a state park, walking down to a
well-fenced lookout to see the whirlpool. Picturing the results to
unwary boaters made me shudder, but it looked almost peaceful from my
safe vantage point. :-)
