The only non ASCII character I see in there is the Yen sign in the lower
right corner.

 ml> top left == i (looks like a lowercase I)

Yes, that is how it gets back to me.

Well, it obviously tries to translate the boxes into somthing that fits into 7 bits.

But the issue was not how it looks when these characters are passed trough
the mail, the issue was how it looks on my screen when I run Fmail.
