Hi, Francois. How are you? I much appreciate your detail answers - and your
most recent one above is no exception. I much appreciate your hanging in
there with me. Unfortunately, I was into Delphi when I asked those questions
and I haven't looked at Delphi since then.

I just need to finish my DOS based TP 6.0 product. That, I have decided is
the most important thing for me to do right now. I thought Delphi - based on
Borland's hype would be easy - certainly easier than the other alternatives.
It is not easier and you may see from my other msgs, I am not pleased w/
Borland products any more. Java looks much better and seems to offer more.

I just wanted to reply and tell you how much I really appreciated your
replies.
I am not sure what I will do relative to Delphi. It depends on what I learn
about Java - when I have time. You may wish to take a hard look at it too
and what it offers you in return for complxity.

From what I have read over the last several months a lot of companies are
backing Java to hit MS's strangle hold on the PC market - and they are Po'ed
at MS in a big way. Java is their way of hitting back according to the
Fortune Magazine article I read.

With Java I can write apps that will run anywhere including under Win but not
just for Win. I like that. Now to see if Java can deliver the goods.
If you want a free copy of Java check out "www.sun.com for Sun Micro's WEB
site. It is huge so it will take a few hours to d/l - even w/ a 28.8 modem.
