PE> I see from my logs that you have made 2 calls at 28800. It's

I haven't deliberately changed anything, although for some strange reason
the only connect string I'm now getting is CONNECT 28800, ie. no LAPM/V42
etc. I haven't been able to convince it to give me anything else. I'm
assuming that I've connected with some sort of error correction but the
throughput isn't as high as I would have expected:

+ 05 Feb 18:18:48 BINK CPS: 2563 (230703 bytes) Efficiency: 88%

+ 05 Feb 18:19:32 BINK CPS: 2516 (110715 bytes) Efficiency: 87%

+ 05 Feb 18:20:40 BINK CPS: 2629 (176170 bytes) Efficiency: 91%

+ 05 Feb 18:21:20 BINK CPS: 2631 (102617 bytes) Efficiency: 91%

+ 05 Feb 18:23:28 BINK CPS: 2594 (332121 bytes) Efficiency: 90%

+ 05 Feb 18:23:52 BINK CPS: 2589 (62146 bytes) Efficiency: 89%

+ 05 Feb 18:24:40 BINK CPS: 2644 (124307 bytes) Efficiency: 91%

+ 05 Feb 18:25:28 BINK CPS: 2575 (121061 bytes) Efficiency: 89%

What are you getting for the connect string at your end?

PE> and you're still using a mysterious Netcomm PCMCIA modem?

We've got to know each other better now so it's not so mysterious.

Paul
