a kitten... most definately ... I own/am owned by 3 cats... one we got as an
adult (she's very well behaved) and 2 others as kittens.  All three are very
affectionate, but the older one does have a few quirks that we can't beat out
of her   

You can mold a kitten, and contrary to popular belief, you can actually train
them :)
