  For the Atari? Wow. Which Atari? Did it hook up thru the 850 interface box? 
If so, it's standard RS-232, but with the unique (to Atari) DB-15 connector. 
All that's needed is an interconnecting cable that can convert the 15's pins 
to either the "standard" 25-pin or an AT-style 9-pin.
 
  Now, if it somehow plugged directly into the "daisy chain" of the Atari 
8-bit computer, then there's a problem, and it will NOT connect to an 
IBM-compatible system.
