subject: COM crashes W95, solved.

Hi;
Several weeks ago I reported that a dialing program I've been using
suddenly began to crash a W95 system. At the time I didn't know why,
but I did know it was as consistent as the sunrise.
Well, it turned out to be a 'combination' conspiricy.
I used $COMPILE CHAIN in conjunction with $LIB COM+
At least on my system, a dialing command such as "AT&FM1D7678900"
will cause the modem to dial, but the program will abort. And, I mean
*abort*: no error trapping occurs. Or, it will dial okay and hang-up
upon the receipt of a "+++ATD0", but upon releasing memory back to
the W95 OS, the system will seize. CTL-ALT-DEL doesn't even work with
this one, boyz.
Well, today I decided to take out the "$LIB COM+", and lo it worked
just fine! I put the line back in and changed the $COMPILE to EXE,
and damn, that worked, too!
But put both those lines in and BAM... no workie...
Just thought some of you wanted some heads-up on this one.
