Does anyone have a cat that's allergic to protein? We've had a problem over
the last several years where our 10 year old male Maine Coon / Ragdoll starts
itching and getting sores. We finally had him allergy tested at the advice of
our vet. He is apparently allergic to protein, flea bites, dust mites and
cotton. We have him on a special diet of venison and rabbit at the suggestion
of the vet but he's so depressed that now he refuses to eat and he's starting
to waste and lose weight. I'm beginning to think I should cheat and feed him
some chicken or fish now and then just to keep him happy and help maintain
the weight. The costly option is allergy shots. He's so sad :(
