Back when Bob Klahn and Lee Lofaso were doing their performance of "the
nasties are coming and we need a new moderator" in your echo, someone (I
think it was Cindy) offered several opinions of her own:

(1) the action was unnecessary,

(2) Klahn was at fault for starting his paranoid rant and creating
controversy where there was none, and

(3) IF there was to be such a problem and IF it required a new moderator,
then perhaps someone like Klahn who has already had experience as a
moderator would be an okay pick.

Bob likes to talk about #3, but never likes the mention of #1 and #2.  And
he considered #3 a nomination and even an offer of the moderatorship, even
though there was no offer and the comment didn't come from a person who
COULD offer it.
