MG> Suffice it to say that I didn't say you can't erase *ALL*
MG> DVDs, Bobby is simply trying to win a point that he never
MG> can because he started on a sand foundation.
You didn't say you can't erase *ALL* DVDs because you did not
know there was such a thing as DVD-RWs, and never even conceived
of such a thing. You were so certain of your claim that you
felt it unnecessary to even specify all.
The reality is, you did mean *ALL* DVDs.
This is what you said. Your first comment that started the
thread, Hulett's response, and my attempt to enlighten you.
Not only did you poison a very nice exchange of msgs between
posters on both sides of the political divide, but you did it
with a nasty attack.
If you knew that there is such a thing as a rewritable DVD then
you comment was senseless. Though you do show clear signs of
being senseless, in this case you were probably just ignorant.
If you did not know there are rewritable DVDs then you were
ignorant, and are trying to cover it up with very stupid
deceptions.
If you did know there are rewritable DVDs, then you comment was
just plain stupid.
Either way, you come out stupid.
Oh, and now you can buy a combo VCR/DVD recorder around here for
$80... while supplies last.

MG>> and you're on welfare but have managed to acquire a dvd recorder.
EH> Maybe they're very cheap in WI, yeah, that must be it.
...
EH>> Why anyone would want a DVD recorder for their TV is a mystery.
Maybe to record a TV program. As I did earlier this evening, an
episode of law and order.
MG> A good and valid point. Unlike video tape you can't erase
MG> or record over a dvd. Why *WOULD* someone want one?
Ah, Mimi the ignorant one. Ever hear of a rewritable DVD? I have
one sitting in front of me right now. Should I take a picture
and email it to you?
My goodness, I just took a look at the directory, it's full of
videos. Dang! How did that happen?
Oh, and consider that no store around here sells VCRs anymore.
You can buy a combo VCR/DVD but they are expensive. A lot more
than $50.
So, if you intend to record videos in the future, you better
plan on buying a DVD recorder. Or go for Blue Ray, which is
several times as expensive.
