I just acquired a SupraFax 288 modem from my dad. We purchased it for him
about a year ago, and he hardly ever used it, so I traded him my old Courier
14.4 for it. That old modem will be all he will need for a while.
I want to put it in service on my BBS but I'm having a couple of problems.
1. It does not seem to be able to recognize incoming calls. Outgoing calls
work just fine, but incoming calls do not "RING". This is not exactly the
behaviour I need for a BBS.
2. I was going to upgrade the thing to 33.6, but all the flashers I can find
claim the modem is not flashable. ATI10 clearly shows that the modem does
have an AMD flash rom.
The modem is a SupraFAXmodem 288, 34E Serial Number 73264.
Could I have a bad flash rom? Could that effect it's ability to detect an
incoming call?
... To err is human, but to really foul things up requires a computer.
