I would like to volunteer John Mackey for the position of Moderator
of the SCANRADIO echo. He is a former member of this group, and is
the moderator of our local RADIO_SCANNER echo. I have asked him if
he is interested and when he replied in the affirmative, I asked for
his credentials and here is what he supplied me:

As you know, I have considerable experience in the field of
communications. I also have VERIFIABLE credentials if desired.
These include a Masters in Communications Technology, a (current)
Extra Class amateur radio license, and a (current) FCC General
Radiotelephone license (formerly the 1st & 2nd class radiotelephone
license). I have worked professionally in the radio communications
field & currently work in digital communications.
I am also active on the internet & my favorite operating systems are
MS-DOS 6.2, Windows 95b, & Windows NT-4.
As you are well aware, I believe in a certain (high) level of
integrity. I maintain that integrity regardless of what detractors
may desire.
Of course, there would be some changes on the echo if I were to
become moderator. But then just about any new moderator does that.

I asked John about that last statement, and he said he would
basically run the echo similar to when Ken Storm was active
in the echo.
take care,
Martin
