it's far too useful (netbios over tcp) to disable it. There are other
things that use it besides backup. One of the things we do at the ISP is
print invoices, that also goes over netbios to the print server and then
DLC from there to the printer.
A lot of people think internal/external networks but I've set up the ISP so
there is NO internal network, just software firewalls on certain critical
machines and a few router acls as a double protection measure.
